How often have you said “I just don’t know what to get for [my mom/dad/husband/wife/best friend]! They have everything!”

Well, how about a Goodie Book? There are two versions for kids to buy for their moms, one is from a kid in the 8-15 age range and one from a kid in the 16-19 age range. I’m telling you this because Mother’s Day is approaching… leaving those links hanging around, open on the computer would be a terrific hint that probably even a teenager would pick up on! There are also versions for dads, lovers, and friends.

Here’s how they work: The recipient of the Goodie Book goes through and tears out coupons for “price-less” gifts, which s/he then gives to the giver to redeem. Each book contains 10 coupons, as well as 10 goodie ideas to pay it forward- basically nice deeds you can do that cost nothing but will make someone feel good.

Claire, the creator of Goodie Books, sent me the two books aimed toward moms for review. Immediately, I noticed how very cute they were. The illustrations are adorable and I love the vibrant colors. And one of the best parts: for every purchase made, Goodie Books will donate one dollar to one a charity! (You can read more about that and find out which charities right here.)

The coupons are great- they are all things that are practical, and things that every mom would love- like eating all your veggies, or quit acting like a stranger in your own house and find/do stuff for yourself.

Redeem for one night of eating all my vegetables.

Redeem for two full days of not acting like a total stranger in my own house.

The goodie ideas are all such nice, easy things that we can do for another person- they take extremely little time. Like smiling at someone you never smile at, and that never smiles at you.

My favorite thing about these books is that each item is presented with a sense of humor. Totally cute, nice deeds, and makes you laugh- really, what more could you ask for in a gift?

What is this cookbook that I am so excited about? Well, Raley’s supermarkets give Something Extra magazines away for free, and they are filled with awesome recipes and great cooking and food tips. This cookbook is something they’ve compiled and are selling in their stores to celebrate 75 years of business. It is a really nice 88-page full-color cookbook featuring some of their most delicious recipes from their magazine over the past few years.

Raley's 75th Anniversary Cookbook Giveaway

To celebrate the kick off of my new venture here and my new look, I am giving away a Raley’s 75th Anniversary Cookbook.

Raley’s, a grocery store chain out here in the western US, puts out a fabulous magazine called Something Extra which they give away for free at their grocery stores. I can’t say enough good things about this magazine. The recipes are consistently delicious, as well as super easy to prepare. Many, many of my staple recipes come from these magazines. (Don’t worry, you’re not missing out if you don’t have a Raley’s store, their Something Extra magazine can be found in its entirety here.)

To celebrate 75 years of business, Raley’s has put together this 88-page full color cookbook with some of their greatest recipes out of their Something Extra magazine. Lots of my favorites are in this book and let me tell you, it’s about time they put out a cookbook! I am always thumbing through a huge stack of magazines looking for specific recipes!
